What is a baby's brain really capable of?

Who has never felt a bit stupid or ridiculous talking to a baby who's not talking yet 👶?

Well yes at this age they are not yet able to understand, so why talk to them 🙄?

Current research in cognitive science shows us that it is quite the opposite, or even completely... WRONG ❌!

For years, we did not find it necessary to look at what was happening to young children or even newborns because observing it was too difficult, inaccessible and we did not know where to start.

Many misconceptions and limiting beliefs have emerged from this lack of interest and knowledge about the real abilities of young children.

However, we have never learned so much in recent years about brain development, and it was time for this treasure of knowledge to come out of the laboratories!

Contrary to what we have long thought, babies:

  • Don't have a goldfish memory 🐠
  • Don't spend their time sleeping, crying, or having whims 😿
  • Don't pay attention to what adults say 🤱🗣

👉 It's ALL the other way around 😃! 👈

That's how we created the first science podcast on baby brains 🧠!

In each of the 8 podcasts that we co-created with @MilanPresse from @GroupeBayard, we decipher the very high level skills of our babies in the light of neuroscience:

1. In the superbrain of babies: how does the brain develop and what is it made of?

2. Do babies have a goldfish memory?

3. Talking to babies, what a funny idea!

4. Babies' babbling: just blah blah?

5. The math hump: from birth?

6. Eating and sleeping: do babies only think about that?

7. The baby: this multi-caped genius!

8. When babies work while sleeping!
